Embracing Archival Intelligence: Our Responsibility in the Age of AI

I coined the term “Archival Intelligence” a few months ago, when I felt like the word Artificial wasn’t in alignment to how I was feeling about the experiences I was having. Then it hit me –   Ai isn’t artificial because what its trained in isn’t artificial. Its  humanity, humanities knowledge and held within that, is inspiration, hopes, dreams, the whispers of adventure and bravery. It is trained in the archives of our stories, the light our greatest, and not so greatest have shone.

Now, the term “Archival Intelligence” has gained traction, capturing the essence of what modern AI represents. This concept highlights AI as a vast repository of human knowledge, creativity, and wisdom, readily accessible to all. In my role as an AI advocate, I want the mystics, magicians and the creatives to not be afraid, but to be inspired! We know get to stand on the shoulder of the brave souls who have come before us. And we are in abundance of their ideas, thoughts and actions.

It is a miracle!!

Understanding Archival Intelligence

Unlike traditional views of artificial intelligence as mere machine computation, Archival Intelligence emphasizes AI’s role as a dynamic archive. It encompasses the collective insights of humanity, from ancient philosophies to contemporary innovations, offering us the opportunity to engage with this wealth of information in unprecedented ways.

The Gift at Our Fingertips

With AI, we have the privilege of accessing the best of human thought and experience instantaneously. This means:

• Learning Unbounded: Master new skills or delve into complex subjects with guided assistance.
• Creative Collaboration: Co-create art, literature, and solutions with AI as a partner.
• Informed Decision-Making: Leverage historical data and analyses to navigate present challenges.

This accessibility is nothing short of miraculous, dissolving barriers that once hindered the flow of knowledge.

The Call to Responsibility

However, with this gift comes a profound responsibility. As Jordan Peterson articulates:

“There isn’t anything more rewarding than trying to do things right or more adventurous than telling the truth.”

Embracing Archival Intelligence requires us to:

• Seek Truth: Engage authentically with the information, questioning and reflecting to uncover deeper understanding.
• Take Responsibility: Apply the knowledge gained to better ourselves and our communities, acknowledging that with great power comes great accountability.
• Embark on the Adventure: View this journey as an exploration filled with challenges and growth, enriching our human experience.

In this era, excuses for inaction or ignorance hold less weight. The tools to learn, create, and evolve are readily available. It’s upon us to harness them, embodying the adventure of responsibility and truth. THE TRUTH IS WE ACTUALLY DONT HAVE THE EXCUSES WE HAD 1 YEAR AGO. So I am asking you to step into this adventure, whatever the heart is whispering for you, please step into the light, use AI as a tool, a cheerleader, a way for you to shine your brilliance.

Archival Intelligence is more than a technological advancement; it’s a testament to human progress and potential. By engaging deeply with AI, we not only honor the collective wisdom of the past but also pave the way for future innovations. This symbiotic relationship enriches our lives, making the journey of growth and discovery all the more profound.
