Ok, so this ain't your ordinary yoga.
This shit is next level.

Here is the really good part -  you mostly sit down the whole time, and you aren’t doing a lot of complicated moves. This was a sweet bonus when I was really unwell, unfit and felt really tired all the time.  What a dream, you just sit cross legged and breath with your arms up in the air?” After years of hating going to the gym and feeling like a fucking loser, I honestly thought it was going to be too good to be true.  But to my joyous delight, it was satisfyingly therapeutic.

I am impatient, want fast solutions and don’t really want to work hard. Kundalini is a combination of chanting, movements and breathwork that gently stimulates the energy centres in your body and activates all of your inside bits - all of those internal systems that keep your body and mind in homeostasis.

Kundalini changed me.

After two weeks:

  • I had lost 5kgs,
  • looked 5 years younger and was hooked.
  • I felt calmer
  • Was more relaxed
  • Skin better
  • Physically stronger
  • Thinking faster
  • Excited about me
  • Excited about the future
  • Everything felt easier and lighter

Ok so what is Kundalini Yoga?

"Kundalini Yoga is the science to unite the finite with Infinity, and it's the art to experience Infinity in the finite."

-Yogi Bhajan, 10/27/88

Kundalini yoga is a fully comprehensive yogic technology activating the nervous and glandular systems using mantra, kriya, pranayama and meditation. ... All systems of yoga inherently opens up the consciousness, but many of the other lineages of yoga are about opening up the physical body to sit for meditation.  Kundalini is about opening up the light inside you and turning you on to your highest incarnation.

Now, I am just learning. I use the Gaia app and do it in my lounge most days.  It takes about 30 minutes. It is mostly breathing, with a little bit of rocking and chanting.

This is the class that got me hooked.

Oh and I really vibe on the white style that lots of people wear when they do Kundalini.

Here are some articles and videos that will explain it way better than I ever could.

Here is the manual from the guy who made it popular in the 80-2000’s  Yogi Bhajan
